Mission Projects Information Page

Here is a listing of our current mission projects.

Special Mission Projects: We have special mission projects during the months of July and August.

  • School Backpacks: We are collecting school backpacks for Chamberlayne Elementary School. Each Sunday School class has been asked to fill a backpack with school supplies. Our goal this year is to send six backpacks to the school in September.
  • Raceway Ministries: Each year we support the Richmond Baptist Association's raceway ministries. We will be sending homemade cookies to the racetrack in early September. We will be collecting these cookies in August.
  • Our Annual Yard Sale: CBC will be hosting its annual yard sale on Friday, August 14th and Saturday, August 15th. All proceeds will support CBC's group home and the mission fund here at the church.

Our Ongoing Projects:

  • The Lamb's Basket: The Lamb's Basket is a non profit organization that serves as a local food pantry for Henrico County. CBC along with many other local congregations send our canned goods to the Lamb's Basket. We also send four to five workers each month to help hand out food.
  • The Men's Homeless Shelter: Each month one of our Sunday School classes helps provide a meal for a local men's homeless shelter.
  • Soup Label's for Camp Alkulana: Camp Alkulana is owned by the Richmond Baptist Association and is located in the mountains of Virginia. It serves as a retreat center and an outdoor camp for inner city children. CBC is collecting soup labels for camp to help fund their projects.
  • Richmond Baptist Association: CBC is a part of the Richmond Baptist Association and we assist them in their monthly mission projects. Our women's mission group called TLC (Time, Love and Care) leads these projects each month.
  • Refugee Ministry: CBC has been assisting and supporting the resettlement of refugees along with the Virginia Council of Churches. We have been teaching ESL, hosting parties at the church, and are trying to make these newcomers feel welcome here in Richmond.
